A Night with the Tidwell Family
This page is about booking the Tidwells. We travel as an evangelistic team. In some cases,
the preaching of the Word is a requirement to book our singing ministry. I (James), and
Michael are both ministers of the gospel. Because our time on the road is limited (I pastor
a church, and Michael is an evangelist / missionary), we spend most of available time in
special church services where we sing and speak. Of course, we still sing at gospel singings,
conventions, and places where other ministers are speaking. We do not appear any place where
Jesus Christ is not 100 percent of the program.
We are available Friday and Saturday evenings except our regular summer tours (more on
our summer tours below). These two nights permits us to travel in the following states:
TN, KY, IN, OH, WV, VA, NC, SC, GA, FL, AL, MS, LA, AR, OK, MO, IL, and certain parts of
MI, PA, MD, KS, and TX. Our schedule page from previous years reflects our traveling range.
If your church is outside of the mentioned area, or you would rather wait until we are
somewhere closer to your church, just contact us and we will put your church on our list
for our summer tour. We will contact you when we start to schedule these tours.
We have sound tracks and selective sound tracks. However, only on very rare occasions do
we use them. We play our own musical instruments, while we sing. Our music consists of a
electric piano, bass guitar, and drums. We use a 16 track mackie mixer board, Yamaha and
Crown power amps, JBL speakers, etc. Traveling in a bus enables us to carry our sound
equipment with us. This helps us to integrate our PA system into what is available. However,
as a general rule, we insist on the ability to set-up any equipment we deem is necessary to
do our best for the Lord.
We do not go with the anticipation of receiving an offering (no monetary obligations). Yet,
we do insist upon setting up the record table and offering our CD & tapes for sale after
the church service. Selling acts as a guide to sort out the people who really want our
music. It also fulfills the obvious reason why we travel, and that is, to be a musical
blessing and leave that same blessing behind. If we were to give these items away for
free, we would not be able to keep supply and demand in balance. We have no financial
needs that our ministry is trying to support.
